If you have a rec room shop, you are may be looking for more efficient and effective ways to keep it organized. After all, who wants to have any room in their home in a state of disarray?
One way to get your rec room shop organized is to make a hanging hand tool rack. By this I mean making a tool rack for your rec room shop that can hold heavier hand tools such as hammers, bolt-cutters, saws and levels etcetera. This can go a long way in clearing up your rec room shop, and making your tool box a little lighter.
To start, cut several wood planks to the length and width you deem most appropriate to fit all of your tools. Next, glue the pieces together. Make sure that the grains run parallel, and if you can, use a glue brush or a roller-tipped glue bottle to apply the glue. This can help in maintaining an even consistency to the application. You can use a clamp to hold the wood together while the glue dries.
After all of the glue has dried and you have a sizable enough piece of assembled wood, the next step in making a tool rack for your rec room shop is to sand the wood. This helps get rid of dried glue beads. Then, plan a layout of how you want your tools to rest, and nail some nails into the appropriate places for optimal hanging. After this, trace an outline of your tools on the wood board. Once you have done this, make the appropriate holes for hanging in the back of the board using a square and a level. Once this is done, your rec room shop will be well on the way to looking neater and ready for action.
